Aboard Disney Cruise Line, it's good to be a kid. Both the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder have nearly an entire deck dedicated to entertaining children ages 3 months to 17 years.

CELEBRATION, Fla. -- Aboard Disney Cruise Line, it's good to be a kid. Both the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder have nearly an entire deck dedicated to entertaining children ages 3 months to 17 years. While children at Flounder's Reef Nursery, Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are enjoying their dedicated spaces, parents can enjoy the ship "worry-free," thanks to an onboard paging service that allows children to contact their parents at any time during the cruise and anywhere on the ship.

Flounder's Reef Nursery

Infants ages 3 months to 3 years will enjoy life "under the sea" at the Little Mermaid themed Flounder's Reef Nursery -- the cruise industry's first nursery at sea. Trained counselors entertain children with a variety of toys, books, videos, crafts and games. Flounder's Reef Nursery is open select hours every day during the cruise, allowing parents to explore adventures ashore or enjoy adult-only areas onboard the ship.

Disney's Oceaneer Club

It's not an official port of call, but children ages 3 to 7 may feel like they've left the ship and arrived at Peter Pan's Never Land during their stay at the whimsical Oceaneer Club. This child-friendly oasis, themed to Captain Hook's pirate ship, contains a play area with slide and rope bridge, a "captain's closet" filled with costumes, toys and games, and an open seating area for arts, crafts and movie watching. Counselors keep tots entertained with activities ranging from dance parties to science experiments to interactive story time. Popular activities include:

Ages 3 - 4

  • A special moment with a Disney princess comes to life when children share a dance with Snow White at Do Si Do With Snow White.
  • Sebastian's Musical Sea Search is a hunt for instruments; once they're found, everyone has a place in the band for a big concert!
  • Cool down on Castaway Cay with Water Mania, a splashy selection of games involving water balloons, sponges, buckets and lots of water.

Ages 5 - 7

  • Children can make a magical green goo and other interesting creations during Professor Goo's Magical Experiments.
  • The next great celebrity chef could be discovered at The Junior Chef Experience, where children work together to bake tasty Nestle Toll House chocolate chip cookies.
  • On Castaway Cay, the Dig at Monstro Point leads kids to discover the skeleton of a giant whale, shark teeth and other fun artifacts.

Disney's Oceaneer Lab

Kids ages 8 to 12 feel like they've gone to "infinity and beyond" at the space and science themed Oceaneer Lab. Twinkling star-like lights and giant planetary spheres fill the room along with an oversized Buzz Lightyear figure. A bank of computers loaded with games are available for children looking for some quiet time or they can join Professor Goo at the interactive science lab and participate in crazy experiments. There are also karaoke jams, pajama parties, sports challenges, and more. Among the additional programs available are:

Ages 8 - 9

  • Flash your best TV smile in Now a Word From Our Sponsor, which gives kids a chance to stand in front of a camera and produce a commercial.
  • A boat made of soap? It may sound silly, but it's the basis of a fun Regatta Race where kids make mini boats out of soap and other materials, then race them to find the fastest in the fleet.
  • At Castaway Cay, kids can go on an expedition to find buried treasures, or cool off with Gotta Get Soaked, a wet and wild competition between teams.

Ages 10 - 12

  • Did you know that it's actually polite to burp after a meal in China? Learn about differences of other cultures during Culture Shock, an interactive quiz game.
  • A slip-sliding good time is waiting at the Mickey Pool during the Splish & Splash Pool Party with games, music and lots of water fun to keep children entertained.
  • The Search for Atlantis is a quest around Castaway Cay in search of special crystals that are the life source of the mystical city -- the only catch is that the directions on the ancient map are written in a lost language that will have to be decoded!

The Stack and Aloft

The Stack (Disney Magic) and Aloft (Disney Wonder) are reserved for guests ages 13 to 17 and are packed with comfy couches, a soda bar serving soft-drinks and smoothies, internet access, plasma-screen TVs, MP3 players, board games, and other chill-out necessities. As if the cool gear inside wasn't enough, counselors organize activities ranging from dance parties to trivia games to sports contests.

A leader in the family cruise segment, Disney Cruise Line offers three-, four- and seven-night itineraries to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Land/sea vacation packages that include a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort are also available. Both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will embark on new itineraries in 2006, with the Disney Magic including a seven-night alternate western Caribbean itinerary making two stops at Castaway Cay, while the Disney Wonder will sail two first-ever 10- and 11-night itineraries to the Southern Caribbean.
