 CELEBRATION, Fla. -- From its refurbished spa and adult pool to exciting entertainment upgrades, Disney Wonder cruises the Caribbean with the classiest three- and four-night getaways in the industry. Designed in the style of an elegant ocean liner and offering world-class amenities, the Disney Cruise Line ship sails to the popular port of Nassau and the idyllic private island, Castaway Cay.
With expanded offerings for families, children and business travelers, Disney Wonder sets a new standard by packing a treasure trove of magical memories into a three- or four-night getaway.
Itineraries -- Disney Wonder promises fun and adventure as it voyages to the popular port of Nassau, the Bahamian capital teeming with tropical and historic sights. A pirate haven in the 1700s, Nassau shines with elegant gardens, famous forts, busy casinos and world-renowned straw markets. Active guests won't want to miss snorkeling and boating excursions. At Castaway Cay, the livin' is easy and the fun is non-stop. A tropical paradise fringed with palms and framed by sparkling seas, the island offers special amenities for kids, teens and adults.
On-Deck, On-Shore -- It's easy to forget the everyday routine while sailing aboard Disney Wonder. Breakfast is better with the breeze tickling your shoulders. Every day presents new adventure, whether you choose to snorkel among a rainbow of fish in the Bahamian waters, catch a view of marine life from a glass-bottom boat or pamper yourself with a beachside massage. On-deck fun can mean a spirited ping-pong match or lazy hours on a deck chair with a best-selling novel. On-shore excursions might take you to the colorful straw markets, where artisans hand weave hats and totes before your eyes, place you in the midst of an awe-inspiring dolphin encounter or reveal old-world lore of historic Nassau.
Entertainment -- Let the muses be with you as you sink into one of the 977 plush seats at the wondrous Walt Disney Theatre, which spans three decks of the ship. In Hercules -- The Muse-ical, the title hero teams up with a motley villain, a Greek goddess, two wacky sidekicks and, of course, the muses to deliver romance, laughs and sensational songs from the Disney animated hit film, "Hercules." Other live entertainment features:
- "The Golden Mickeys," a salute to Walt Disney and his legacy of animation magic in the most technologically advanced stage show at sea, with theatrical song and dance, animated film, video and special effects, plus;
- "Disney Dreams," a bedtime story featuring Peter Pan, Belle and the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella, Ariel and many other popular Disney characters that help a young girl realize the power of her dreams.
During each cruise, guests also can join in the fun of the Pirates IN the Caribbean dinner and deck party, an evening of adventure, music and dancing that begins with a feast fit for a pirate and continues with a duel between Captain Hook and Captain Mickey. Guests don bandanas, stunt performers rappel from atop the ship's funnel and the night sky illuminates in a blaze of fireworks.
Throughout the cruise, first-run films and classic Disney features play at the state-of-the-art Buena Vista Theatre. And now, film and sports buffs get a deck-side bonus: poolside movies on a jumbo LED screen. Families can gather to watch classic Disney animated or live-action movies on the 336 square-foot screen. Other broadcasts by the Goofy Pool include popular TV shows as well as major sporting and broadcast events.
Dining -- An innovative dining experience aboard the Disney Wonder rotates guests through three imaginatively themed restaurants during the cruise -- the casually elegant Triton's with its "under the sea" theme, the whimsical, island-inspired Parrot Cay and the Animator's Palate, where Disney animation paints the evening with living color.
For adults, Palo offers an elegant dining alternative with sweeping ocean views and northern Italian cuisine. A champagne brunch bubbles with elegance at Palo; the casual Beach Blanket Buffet serves up a bounty of great tastes for a laid-back breakfast or lunch.
Youth Activities -- Oceans of activities await kids from age 3 on up in the ship's Oceaneer Club (ages 3-7), Oceaneer Lab (8-12) and Aloft (teens only). Themed to Peter Pan's Neverland and Captain Hook's pirate ship, the Oceaneer Club provides a storybook escape where kids can scramble around a rope bridge and slide, watch movies and participate in activities that sometimes include Disney's popular cast of characters. Activities are broken down further by specific age groups -- children ages 3 and 4 can "Do Si Do with Snow White," engage in craft activities or join Sebastian's Musical Sea Search to hunt for instruments that they'll play as part of a band; kids 5 and 6 can become the next Emeril during The Nestle Jr. Chef Experience, where children bake melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookies, or they can dig into some funny science by creating a sticky-green goo like Flubber.
The Oceaneer Lab offers older kids a chance to check themselves in and out of activities at parents' discretion. This virtual world of fun includes a giant video wall with wireless controllers, flat-screen computers with "family-rated" software, plus loads of other age-related toys and activities. Fun stuff for kids 8 and 9 includes producing their own wacky TV commercials, creating their own soap cars to race in the Piston Cup Championship and building their own volcano. Ten-to-12-year-olds can participate in a trivia game show, join the Search for Atlantis around Castaway Cay and meet new friends at a nighttime pool party.
At Aloft, teens have their own dance floor, internet café and lounge with big-screen plasma TVs. A bonus: even the counselors are hip. Teens who want to get involved can join in poolside games, learn the latest hip-hop dance moves and tap into some karaoke to find their inner rock star.
The youngest sailors (12 weeks to 3 years old) get special care at Flounder's Reef Nursery so that parents can enjoy "down time" to explore the ship on their own.
On Castaway Cay, sun, sand and water activities organized by the ship's counselors, such as a whale-bone and shark-tooth dig, keep children happy at Scuttle's Cove.
Adult Activities -- First-rate pampering is in store for guests who seize the opportunity to enjoy the newly expanded Vista Spa and Salon complete with indoor spa treatment suites attached to breezy, private outdoor verandas with personal hot tubs. Sweethearts can enjoy a romantic escape with the "Well-Being Massage for Couples" and other treatments for two, while individual guests might want to treat themselves to a relaxing volcanic-stone and warm-oil massage therapy, a soothing body wrap or a pampering pedicure. The 10,700-square-foot Vista Spa includes a spacious fitness area -- recently doubled in size -- with cardio and weight-training equipment, spinning classes, and even private salons designed for Pilates instruction and one-on-one beauty and fitness consultations.
When the sun goes down, the action speeds up with hot dance tunes at WaveBands, a club with live music along the ship's Route 66 nightclub area. And the Cadillac Lounge is the perfect spot to enjoy live piano music or kick back while tuning in to personal listening stations. Game devotees can catch the sports action on plasma screens at Diversions, a classy sports pub with every amenity.
Enrichment programs for adults include a wine tasting and a behind-the-scenes peek at onboard entertainment. The Quiet Cove Pool with adjoining whirlpool spas is a haven for adults, and on the private island Castaway Cay, Serenity Bay is just for adults with a private beach, open-air bar, couples' hammocks and even private massage cabanas.
