Excellent affordable knife set R.H. Forschner by Victorinox are great knives. There are plenty of chef-grade knives (such as Global, WÜSTHOF or other), but unless you are a chef or someone for whom the sky is the limit when it comes to your kitchen, these knives are fine. Most of us cannot afford to stock our kitchens with "the best." Finding very good quality that is affordable versus professional quality that requires a second mortgage works for most of us.

It does what it is supposed to do for a great price I bought this along with some Forschner knives. So far, those knives have not needed sharpening. However, I pulled some old knives out of the drawer and this quickly and effortlessly improved the edge. The only drawback is that it does not include written instructions. I had to search around online to figure out exactly how to use it. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.
tropicalports: ReviewA good pair of multipurpose shears is a must in any kitchen. Victorinox makes this pair with a very sharp tip, the better to snip chives from a windowsill pot or cut cilantro leaves off the stem. Use the serrated inner rim of the handles as a bottle opener, clip recipes out of a magazine, or cut the skin off a chicken-the shears can do just about anything, although Victorinox makes another pair especially for cutting poultry into pieces. Lightweight and reasonably priced, the shears are constructed of blades stamped from high-carbon stainless steel and hand-finished in Switzerland, while the polypropylene handles, available in a choice of colors, suit either left- or right-handed users. The shears measure eight inches overall, are best washed by hand, and are covered by a lifetime warrantyagainst defects. --Ann Bieri

Another hit from a fine manufacturer I have three other Chef knives from this manufacturer and am happy with all. Cook's also has reviewed their larger Chef knife as top notch. I primarily use this particular knife for vegetable prep. I like the balance and the fibrox handle has a great feel. Additionally, the price is a fine value.
